The two-faced bitch I'm talking about is the Roman god Janus. The tradition of New Year's Resolutions, like most fabulous gay events, goes way back to ancient Roman times. The Romans believed a two-faced god, Janus, was a metaphor for looking back in time in order to gain insight into the future. You can imagine how sexy it would be to have a muscular Roman god with two mouths in the sack! I wonder how he looked naked. Woof! Yes, woof indeed!
To this day we celebrate in the beginning of January, a month named after the god Janus, by declaring how we're going to improve ourselves in the coming year.
But what's really going on here? Why do we do this? I think we react to the celebration of the oncoming year by trying to better understand who we are and how to love ourselves unconditionally. To me this doesn't necessarily mean accepting all your personal shortcomings 100%. It means understanding who you are at the moment, knowing where would you like to go and giving yourself the love to get there. It means challenging yourself to change.
As gay folks, I want to know how we can get a little more love into our hearts and maybe into other areas of the body so I opened up the voice-mail line (773) 681-3833 to the listeners to answer the question: "What is something specific that you're doing now to love yourself unconditionally?"
Listen to this podcast of my sweet husband Marc Felion and me, Fausto Fernós as we respond to your voice messages of unconditional love and get some insight from our fabulous friend Marsian De Lellis, a modern-day Truman Capote and fabulous artist. We regularly feature Marsian on our podcast Feast of Fools at the beginning of the New Year in order to get some insight of things to come.
Marsian's a pretty wacky guy who spends most of his time making tragic puppet shows about campy pop-culture icons. He was part of the very first Feast of Fools show ten years ago when it was an odd-ball variety show done here in Chicago. I love his sense of humor and think you might like it too. But I'm warning you, the guy earns his name Marsian.
Click here to download the audio mp3 file (and play on your iPod.)
To subscribe to the Feast of Fools podcast for free using iTunes, click here.
We're featuring some fabulous songs by the sexy indie rock musician Eric Himan. Isn't he just adorable? You can get his album "Everywhere All at Once" here: iTunes | Amazon | CD Baby | MySpace. So what are MY New Year's resolutions? Let's get REAL, most of them are probably the same as your resolutions. Maybe we should all just agree that every year we must all pledge an oath to get in shape, make more money, love more etc. It could be like the "Pledge of Allegiance" but only done on January first. Are you with me?
I think Dolly Parton and Amy Sedaris sum it up pretty well in the video for the song "Better Get To Livin.'"
But really, I do want to be closer to my family and friends, spend more time with them, gain a better control of my finances and get in really killer shape. Washboard abs here I come! Fuck Reichen! I'm so jealous of him. I too want to license my face and hot muscle ass to sell tacky titanium jewelry on the internet and call the product line "Podcast Naked."
In January I plan to expand our regular video podcast that features Marc and me discussing the odd news and social trends that cropped up in the week. I plan to improve our financial situation by securing more regular advertisers. I plan to clean up more, be on time, and make sure that I get to bed early at night.

I plan on doing fun things, like spending more time kissing and hugging my sweet husband Marc.

I plan on doing difficult things, like taking vitamins on a regular basis.
Like you, I plan on accomplishing some things because these are ways I want to take care of myself. I'm being realistic here, I know not everything is going to get done but I sure will try!
I'd love to hear your resolutions, ideas or comments. Let me feel the love.

all very wonderful New Year resolutions. i need to make some myself, like getting into shape. now that i've quit smoking i need to get to working out and lose weight. because of this blog entry now i will sit and think of the many things i need to improve on.
loved the explanation of the tradition.
good luck fausto.....
A god with a cock in one hand any (my door)key in the other. Where do I get me one of those?
Yaay! :-)
great blog, as always...
i like how you involve your listeners whenever you can, it shows you care about the people who listen to your podcast or read your blogs
Yeah yeah, we get it - you're married and you love him. We know this how? Because you mention it in your blog each and every time. I'm married myself and I'm truly pleased for you, but puh-leez, give us all a break. Sorry, thumbs down for this self-indulgent waffle.
Great Entry. For my New Year's Resolution, I always try to make a list of things I would like to do that I never have done before or places I have never been before. I usually accomplish those goals. Fausto and Marc's podcast the Feast of Fools keeps me informed of things I never knew exsited so my list has expanded because of them. Thanks FOF!
Great History leason! Thanks for such a great show and for caring about your loyal listeners. You've gotta win this thing, You guys are the Best!!!
Fausto you so deserve to win! If you don't I am going to be so pissed. I love listening to the show and always love when you have Marsian on.
Keep it up!!!!!
This blog is in a different league compared to the others.. relevant, technically excellent, original material, it made me laugh and I felt included ... this guy must win .. Surely? (Ed."Yes he might... but dont call me Shirley!")
Wow.. A bunch of my favorite FOF people in one Post!!! Marsian (So funny)!!! Eric Himan (SO HOT) and of course Fausto and Marc - and who is this little cowboy at the corner of my screen?? Nice HAT! Great Post Fausto !!! You've got this contest is the bag!!
Great resolutions Fausto. I'm passing the word to everyone I know to come here and vote for you!
I love checking out this competition because I love getting a bonus FOF podcast! You've been doing great work here, Fausto, and this entry is no exception.
My new years resolution is to finally get out of the city I've been stagnating in for years now. Chicago is on the list of places to consider, so maybe I'll finally get to check out all the fabulous stuff I hear about on the podcast first hand!
I love the special cast. Call in shows are the best. I love myself with a bottle of astroglide.
Yes, almost there....................wait for it......................wait for it.
This is not Rocket science.......write about crappy moments or Happy moments you always seem to add enough color to keep my attention.
This is why I like you..............I have seen the light and
I am voting!
Love ya
-SAL-E
The reason why I love the Feast of Fools so much is that it's a great antidote to all the snark and bitterness I see not just in the gay community, but in the world at large. Fausto loves his Marc, and so what if he mentions it all the time? Would Matt from the UK prefer to hear people bitch about how miserable they are to be with their spouses every day? Maybe he does, but I don't.
I cast my vote for the man who has consistently put out quality content out on the internet. You go, you blue-haired homo!
I love me some Marsian! So smart and oh so funny!
Best of luck with resulutions, I hope you're not like me. I make a long list, and by february i've dumped most of them. But be assured that your listeners will continue to support FOF. I'm enjoying my Delicious shirt and can't wait for more......Best Wishes for the new year.
Congrats Fausto! And it's wonderful to see your resolutions up here. Don't do *too* much video...I listen to FOF in my car and I don't want to crash!
Anyhoo, you put a lot of work into your posts so, you're awesome, and I hope you win!
TC
Congratulations on making it this far Fausto and Marc!
I love the additional posts I'm getting here. They are a wonderful supplement to an already wonderful Podcast! Last year I resolved to quit smoking and with the support of my husbear and the aid of Chantix, I did it! I'm not a smoker anymore. That's how I love me!
You guys need to win.
I like your New Year's Resolutions, Fausto! Maybe, though, you might focus more on eating foods with all those vitamins rather than trying to choke down pills every day. I know that I love eating much, much more than trying to swallow a pill. It shows, too. Maybe I should make that resolution to lose weight? Maybe I should hire someone to follow me around and slap the food out of my hand because I am continuously snacking. Seriously, though, I think a lot of people get the idea that tons of vitamins will make them healthy, but there is such a thing as too many vitamins. Sorry to go off on that tangent, heheh. Good luck with your goals for 2008!
We all try to keep this up, there has to be more than just one prize this year, and since we made people's choice award gay pdcast we need to take home the gaybloggies as well....and next year it'S going to be podcast of the year...i am really positive about that. anyways...keep them up...and my favorite blog was yesterday, the one about chicago, like i already said, you really make me wanna come to chicago....great representetives...
Maurice
Dear Fausto,
Your devotion to Feast of Fools, and to your fans astounds me. No one takes the time and makes the effort you do to make each and every installment something new, interesting, informative, and most of all, entertaining. I honestly don't know how you do it. What I do know is that I'll learn something new every day with the Feast of Fools. I am particularly touched by the way you reach out to the gay youth of the world. You're sincere, you respect them, you care, and I'm sure you give them strength, guidance, and the positive outlook they'll need to make their way in the world.
You make a difference in the world, Fausto. I think that's a goal that everyone should include with their New Years resolutions.
My best to your Husband.
Thanks,
Pepper
Way to be rude Marc! :P
I didn't say "oot" you're crazy! You guys made some excellent points about perfectionism, very relevant to my life (it took me so long to actually send that comment because I was worried it wouldn't be good enough). I guess my resolution would be to stop being such a perfectionist.
Also, the reason for the name Brain Fork goes back to my days in high school. For some reason that escapes me, I used to wear a fork over my ear (like a pencil) ... it became my signature. Since then, the idea has evolved into the name I design under, Brain Fork design. I view the name as a metaphor for creative design: the fork represents the design/idea that sticks in the consumer's brain. It stops them in their tracks (much like a fork to the head would) and makes them think about what they see.
Great post today guys! even if Marc did make fun of my accent. LOL!
You seem like a wonderful person who does a lot of good, but your blog entries are wearyingly self-promoting without being enlightening or revelatory. I know a lot about you but I don't know you at all. I guess this is why I'm a Puntabulan loyalist. Good luck in your other endeavors, though.
Wonderful entry Fausto and Marsian is always wonderful to listen to. Good job keep it up.
I always love learning the history behind our holidays and superstitions. I have listened to the podcast since the early 200’s and I feel like a proud relative watching a prized nephew growing up. I am excited about all of the directions you two are going in. Best of luck on this and all contests in the future. You deserve it Fausto. Lots of love.
Eric's hot...and Fausto and Marc are fucking fantastic...good luck with the resolutions!
My God, how can so much cute and cleaver come from such a sassy package? Go Fausto Go!
Fausto, you're a great guy, but this felt more like an ad for the podcast.
Wow, Hot Eric Himan, luv it!!! Thanks for the history lesson too on why we do this New Years Resolution crap. Way to expand the blog to include us listeners too.
The podcast is awesome if i do say so myself. You should definitely give it a listen Ben.
thumbs uup!!
all the effing waaaay!!
one eloquent and witty guy!!
woot woot!! LoL
I have always loved history in general and the history of holiday traditions. Thank you for all the hard work that you put in to the podcast Fausto and Mark!! It really hurts me to see some of these hurtful and targeted remarks about you and the listeners. You must be doing something right to be getting all this attention.
Bitch, you're going to win! I know it loco!!
Faustito! Your entries are so great... plus all the eye candy in them.. the same can't be said about your competitors.. their bad. GO FAUSTO!!! You have the gaybloggies won.
Great Job once again!
Your blog is well laid out, as are most of your thoughts.
Even if you dont win the bloggies top prize, please dont stop writing, you truly have a beautiful view of the world.
Fausto and Marc have inspired me to become a podcaster for my new years resolution. I have been wanting to try for a while and I am finally going to just give it a shot. I only hope my cast can be half as entertaining as theirs. I'll be listening to FOF for more inspiration and fun in the coming year. Thanks so much to all of you at FOF.
Hope this "thumbs up" body slams your opponent into the ground!
How many more rounds before you choke the others out and take your prize?
I'm in your corner of the ring, Fausto!!!
Aww! That picture of you and Marc is so cute!
Everyone's New Year's resolution should be to listen to each and every FOF podcast and BUY MORE T-SHIRTS!
Well, I've gotta say that I'm not a regular "commenty" sort of guy. You have, however, shamed me in two ways: 1) You made me feel guilty for not commenting on your fabulous postings until now - all of which I've read/viewed/heard, and 2) you made me make up the word "commenty" - and I work for a university! So double-tsk on me...
I know you're choosing random "commenters" (another made-up word! Aie!) to receive random gift packs, but I hope you don't choose mine. Seriously. If you do, just save the shipping cost and keep on producing the best podcast ever, and one of my only connections to gay life outside of Alabama.
One final thing - It seems that you two haven't traveled much in the South, so I'd just like to let you know that there are many well-educated (forgive my two made-up words from earlier - at least I acknowledge I did it), fun-loving, book-reading, podcast-listening, Star Trek-watching, well-adjusted gay couples who actually love living here. Of course, there are several hundred thousand times that who freaking hate it. ;0)
Keep up the good work, Marc and Fausto! I hope you win the Gay Bloggies Award and can get your new Mac! Thousands of beautiful gay souls would be lost (and therefore less fabulous) without you.
MUAH!
Chris
Wow...that is a lot of vitamins. And I love myself everyday. I think we all know what that means.
I LOVE they Feast Of Fools!!! The others have NOTHING on you, thats why YOU get my vote!!! I LOVE YOU FAUSTO
Love the blog, love the podcasts!! Only, I get SO BEHIND that I was listening to Halloween last Monday!!! How do people stay caught up?!?!? Anyway, I cut out Thanksgiving to listen to the Christmas shows, and now I am only a few days behind. My New Year's resolution is to catch up with the FOF and stay on top of it all year!!!!!!
I envy your relationship with Marc, and one day soon I will be having that kind of elationship back in my life. You guys are brilliant (well, there sre some times when I am shouting corrections or additions to what you are saying that you cannot hear, but that's the nature of the medium... hahaha)
Go GO GO!!!!
Sure that the game is going to be more peaceful.
Oh ya I love the beginning of the whole thing, but hey, eat a regular meal with fish meat vegetable and fruit, please! Vitamin is not the ultimate solution!
Great entry once again! You guys are seriously distracting me from studying for finals... but who can help but to fall in love with the fun and wit of the FOF!! Best of luck and congrats on a well deserved goal!
Fausto you deserve this award more than any competitor here!
i listen to you and marc everyday while im at work and you guys just make the hours fly by!
your shows always put a smile on my face and always lets face it, we always learn something new on the feast of fools! =]
thank you for all your devotion you and marc put into making the shows everyday!
GO FAUSTO!!
p.s. if you dont wanna take all them pills just have some vitamin water, that stuffs great! =]
I love Martian!!!
First thing every morning I run to the computer and get yalls latest show. I wish my ride to work was longer so I didn't have to listen in stop but I'm always glad to have yall on the ride home too! (I love me some Sal-E!!)
The podcast is alright, but the blog itself is pretty long winded. While I think you're probably pretty smart guys, frank actually entertains me and makes me laugh.
But of course... Fausto, Marc, Marsian, and Eric Himan... you can't have a better lineup than this. Marsian is so out there and yet so wise. Love his perspective on things. I can't wait to hear his predictions for 2008.
Keep on rollin' Fausto!
Hurrah for FoF! I've been telling people to vote for you, Fausto, and I've been told it's shocking that you haven't already won.
I'll take my new year's resolutions vicariously from you Fausto. Thanks! Once again, you blow the competition away!
Home stretch now, Fausto. You can do this :D Another great entry!
yes... i agree.. it really struck a chord with me...
I love the feast of fools! Fausto and Marc (Amanda, Sal E, and Miss Ronnie) put so much work into every episode and it shows, none of these bitches work harder. Don't pay attention to the haters on here, keep on keepin' on.
Where did Miss Ronnie go anyway? I never miss an episode so it seems like her departure was a quiet one...
FOF deserves to win. Period.
W00t, W00t Fausto and Marc!!! Great entry, great show. I don't do New Year resolutions but I do think about where I've been and where I'm going and sometimes I do think about things I'd like to change and how to go about it. Keep up the good job guys! By the way, there's a little xmas pressie in the mail for you two from me.
besitos,
lis
You GO boys!
Congrats on getting into the top 3 so far (as if there was any doubt you wouldn't)
Keep it up and you got my vote(s) for the top prize! I couldn't think of anyone else more deserving!
Your power-listener and kinky correspondent:
Buzz
O, Fausto, you should be the winner already!
I've been listening to Feast of Fools for over a year now and never left a single comment anywhere. But now I've read the blog, and most importantly of all - VOTED. Yay! (So if you win by one vote, that's me, right?)
And oh, would I want to buy a T-shirt just to support you guys, but I'm in Finland, and don't have a credit card, (..or money), and blue really doesn't suit me.
Anyway, you guys cheer up the grey, ugly, busy December for this little lesbian. (and you are so awfully cute it almost hurts.) KIITOS.
You guys have really out-done yourselves yet again. One of your commenters hit the nail on the head when he said you guys are in a league of your own. The depth and content of your blogs have been down-right incomparable to the others. You are the Glamor Shots to their self-made bathroom pics, LOL.
And you've got TWO People's Choice Podcast awards. This stuff is small time and should be a piece of cake for you guys (for me to sit on).
Always a pleasure,
Richard
You are always so positive and upbeat, Fausto! It really inspires me. I take a crap ton of vitamins in the morning. I promise you get used to it. Keep up the good work, and we'll get you to win, I promise!!
The reason why you get the most comments Fausto, is because you're the most charismatic of these gay bloggers, and intended to win with a clear conscience. I must admit I felt bad by giving thumbs down to the other bloggers, but now that I now they're using dirty tricks it's all justified.
Did you know that people who have assymmetrical faces are said to have "Janus faces" and that it supposedly is a sign of being musically talented?
The kissy kissy! pic is the sweetest ever!
Yeah the whole resolution thing is wacky. Why should we be only trying to better ourselves for that week, 2 wks or OMG if were lucky month following Jan 1st. I like everyone else will still be doing a resolution tho lol.
Great new entry. Long Live Feast Of Fools!!!
And in answer to your question "What is something specific that you're doing now to love yourself unconditionally?"... Reminding my self that I rock! Cuz, indeed I do. No new year resolutions required!
Fausto- Love your show, thanks for the history on New Years, thumbs up for me!!! BTW... You have not won yet because the contest is not over!!! OK, Smooth to you both.... Hey Mark!
Eric Himan is HOT !!!!
MMM Mm m....
Awesome post Fausto. Your podcast and blog posts always teach, make me think and entertain. While all the things you mentioned are goals of mine this year, my primary one is to put the past behind me and live in the now. Later Fausto.
PoloDrew
Fausto! Really, the other blogs dont stand a chance against your masterpieces! Posting a few youtube vids or a long block of text does nothing to stimulate my blog libido like your colorful "gueer eye for the gay eye-candy". Love you! You BETTER win this! It would be a sham if you don't!
everyone else totally sucks.
fof totally rules.
GO GO GO GO FAUSTO!!!! I really enjoyed the history lesson...thanks! Marsian is ALWAYS a treat! and Eric Himan...mmmmmmmmmmmm! I like your idea of the pledge of allegiance rather than the usual resolutions. No truer words are spoken.
Good luck with the top two!
Careful with those Vitamins, Fausto! Take too many and they're likely to do all sorts of nastiness to your digestion.
I really enjoy reading your articles, you put a whole lotta love into each and every one, just like the podcast. You put that heart into everything you do, and you'll go all the way.
Looking forward to reading more!
You Go Boi - Always an enjoyable read... and tasty pics ;-).
Fausto, another excellent entry. Love you. Love Marc. Love the podcast. Keep up the great work--I don't know how you juggle it all!!!!!!!!
Fausto, Fausto, Fausto!! You are amazing! You better win this!
Can I have some of the pills too?
Yay Fausto! I think you might win!!
Why bother with bad tasting multi vitamins? There is some more tasty fluids, which are easy available to any gay couple and that will provide a lot of nutrients and good flavor!!! Keep your way to the top Fausto, good luck.
I love the podcast and the blog has been so much fun to read too!! Way to go Fausto!
I look forward everyday to listening to both you and Marc; the wacky news, the funny songs and of course the folks you have drop by. Please continue.
PS. In my book your already a winner.
Hey Fausto:
Great Podcast!! Loved the little history lesson, you just gotta love the Romans!! YEOWWWW!! Marisan was a good guest on the show. Keeps up the great work!! Love you guys! See you soon
All the best to you and yours, and by that I mean shudderingly long and dripping orgasms.
My new years resolution is to get an airport card for my mac at work so I can bypass the damn filter they put on the network so I can continue to listen to the best gay podcast in the world, THE FEAST OF FOOLS. I also vow to continue supporting this show through T-Shirt Purchases and donations. It is truly worth it. Thanks for all your hard work, it helps make my days more enjoyable.
Another great entry with interesting, unique and best of all original content. Well written as usual, with visual punch provided mostly from original images created by the blogger that enhance rather than dominate the post. Great use of multimedia elements and links that direct to useful and relevant content or products.
Good luck on the Reichenesque abs!
And really could Fausto and Marc be any cuter together?
As always a fantastic podcast. I think one of the best things I can do is my "homework". Spending time on honest self reflection helps me move to becoming the person I want to be. This year I want to do more of that.
Keep it going Fausto, you are working your way to the top and you will make it!
THUMBS UP ALL THE WAY UP!!! I love you guys!
Hope you win I like listening to your show almost everyday. Please keep up the great interviews and talks that you both do so well.
Fantastic blog!
I used to listen to the podcast but now I dont use Itunes Im having trouble subscribing... Love the blog, and I really wanna get back into the podcast as I seemed to have missed the Wedding! Huge congrats!
OMG! I wish you didnt have to go! Gonna miss you!
This New year I am trying to shed the gulity feelings associated with Sexual encounters. As a girl I have been told for years to be open sexually with others = SLUT. I have a hard time not feeling bad about myself if I choose to kiss a girl or have a one night stand (safe sex included). So I hope that I can feel more open in the future to possible sexual encounters. INstead of tossing away the oppertunity because I feel like I am doing something wrong.
Thank you Feast of Fools!! Your show helps me to more normal! Fausto!! You the man!
I love the extra podcast and I love Marsian! I'm glad that you often mention Marc and how much you love him. The world needs more people professing how much they love their spouses. I know I sure do love mine! Thanks for all the hard work you put into The Feast of Fools. You deserve to win!!
Fausto your gay blogs make me wet. Especially when I'm on them. haha..I AM a freak. Love you guys!
Another wonderful show, Fausto. I wish you the best of luck on all of those resolutions, even if I have to come over and help you out! We're all behind you to win and no matter what happens know how much you both are loved.
Been listening for a long time, fantastic guys! Yeah I am listening to feast of fools now, keeps me updated with what's going on in the gay world in my tiny little closeted one. *Sighs* Yeah... Anyway, brilliant. Thanks.
Hello to the blue-haired and the brown-dicked wonders! We love you! Keep blogging and podcasting and doing that good stuff you do! Yummmmmm!!!!
Well, in all cliche-ness, I am a looong time listener and first time anything-er. I'm not on the Frapper Map, I'm not registered on the Website, but I've listened to almost every show, and tell myself, well, one time when I'm near the computer when I'm listening or remember I'm going to register or at least give a shout out.
So from Greenville, NC, GOOD LUCK FAUSTO!!
This cage fight is fierce!
Way to go Fausto-here's to you being #1 in the gay bloggies-and Happy early New Year!
I have to use this space to profess that I have a total crush on marsian.
I love to floss!!!!!
In the coming new year, I make it my resolution to continue listening to the Feast of Fools every day! Sound easy? Well, it is! I'm only teased for four minutes while the Feast of Fools downloads and transfers to my iPod, but then I eagerly press "play" and listen to the wild stories and crazy antics of Marc and Fausto! Everyone should do it! :-P
I just love Maris blue hair against the pink hoodie! So cute!
I'm rooting just for you Fausto!
Fausto, keep up the excellent work. You seem to excel in everything you set out to do. I love the podcast, the blog, the everything.....you are wonderful.
Fausto is the bloggiest blogger in all the land! HE ROCKS. HE RULES!!!!!!
So I gave you thumbs up because you deserve it. I suppose if you did not make any effort I would still vote for you because I enjoy listing to your pod-cast. Im glad I do not have that problem. As for the other two blogs. Well I really liked one of them. It showed effort as well. One problem I did have was voting against someone. It just felt dirty and I was having a moral dilemma, But then I saw that he does not like Fox News. If you have seen any of my postings on your website, then you know I am the crazy Republican who is bothered when you all dog on my guys. I say that in good fun. Even though I know there is sadly true anger and hate directed at many of the people I respect. That being said, I was happy to vote for you and against your opponents. I can say they were both true votes of conscience. Good Luck.
Have only recently discovered your podcast and I LOVE it! Best of luck in the competition!
Yummm!!!! I love the taste of extra podcasts!! And I love, love, love Marsian!! I can't believe he is in Valencia, I grew up in a town just next to there. I think I must stalk him over xmas break.
I've been listening to Fausto & Mark every morning on the way to work and coming back hom every evening for about 3 years now. They always bring a smile to my face, and make the day that much easier to begin, and reduce the stress at the end. Feast of Fools is the best podcast around gay or straight. Give em hell - Fausto!!!!
Where ever I find you guys you are fun and informative.
w00t w00t! Another great blog entry! I am rooting for you whole-heartedly to win the Gay Bloggies. Continued luck!
My New Year's Resolution usually included getting out of debt (not so easy!), not complaining, and eating better. Maybe it says something if I continue to have the same ones! Oh well!
I love fausto's podcast! In the new year I will do more to be a yogi.
Love it! I must say this competiton is helping us to get to know you better, I've been listening to the show for a couple of months now, and it just keeps getting better and better. Best of wishes and good luck Fausto, you shall be the champion!!!!
Hey Fausto , Joyeux Noel et Bonne Annee!
this competition is fun, an other way to know you better.
good job! you have a way to make every subject interesting
And i want to see Marc dress as Santa sitting on a cake!
i love that idea......lol
LOve JOse
My new years resolution is to listen to even more of the Feast of Fools podcast!!
THUMBS UP!
yum-o
Hey Fausto, I think you're going a little crazy on the resolutions. I don't know HOW you could do all that stuff and STILL get to bed early every night! It ain't gonna happen girly.....
go fausto! my resolution is to listen to more fof. and cake-sitting. lots of cake-sitting.
You guys are voices to the voiceless keep doing the good works.
Fausto, you're insightful look into the future without neglecting the past is a delight. I'm grateful for all you do to make the Feast of Fools what it is. Keep banging it out for that Gay Bloggie award!
My my Fausto, when you take scissors to work you don't just cut, you create a friggin' doily. My New years resolution is, as always, not to place unrealistic expectations upon myself. But I'm so glad that there are selfless overachievers like you and the rest of your wonderful cast out there. Words can't express my appreciation. I'll continue my mission to put the word out about you guys.
I LOVE YOU !!!!
=]
you should walk this competition even without the help of your sexual fans!
But with us lot; Yould smash the rest out of the water!!
those guys are gonna feel the wrath of us FOF Fans.
THUMBS DOWN FOR EVERYONE BUT FAUSTO!!!
=]
love

Great podcast
Of course, Fausto is the best of the bunch. Feast of Fools also rules the podcast world. I know deeply in my heart that Fausto will come out on top of this even though he's always under Marc.
My resolution is to get Faulsto the winner. Of course, Fausto is the best of the bunch. Feast of Fools also rules the podcast world. I know deeply in my heart that Fausto will come out on top of this even though he's always under Marc (in bed).
I *love* this blog! You've mixed two of my favorite things. Roman history and Feast of Fools! Kick some rock-hard ass, Fausto!
Okay! Okay! I voted for you. Now return the favor and in the future say NICE things about me.
your blogs continue to be educational, interesting, and funny. Kepp it up, you'll go all the way.
borrrrrrrrrrrrrrrring.
Fausto, you clearly know how to keep the folks entertianed. Not only do you do so on this contest blog but also do so every week day on the Feast Of Fools. Keep up the nice work.
Fausto, you and Marc are da bomb! You deserve to enjoy a wonderful and joyful Holiday Season. And you deserve to win this contest. We love you!
Hey Fausto,
You're the most hard working blogger we've ever come across. You continually find innovative and fascinating ways of sharing yourself with the rest of the world.
We are so fortunate to be here sharing the gift of you.
Thank you for your generosity and your desire to make a difference.
We really hope you win this because nobody is more deserving of the honour than you.
Love
Mel and Shaun
A fabulous Thumb and two monkey paws up for you Fausto. My new years resolutions actually started when I started listening to your show. I am inspired every time I hear a new episode by you, Mark and all the wonderful and hilarious people on the FOF. By listening to the various guests you've had on the show (Alix Olsen, Barbara Carrellas to name two of my favs) I have been motivated to become more involved, more adventurous, and more courageous at defining who I am and want to be. I'm sure many listeners would agree that your show not only entertains us but also teaches us, comforts us, and most importantly inspires us to be true to ourselves and each other. There aren't enough THANK YOU'S in the world to express our gratitude but I'll say it anyways. THANK YOU! Keep up all the great work and good luck with the competition.
Love ya Saltina & Marc
I love the cat sitting at the computer. It made me laugh so hard! I hope you win Fausto, you deserve it!!!
You rock! You have so many friends out there that you've never met. Thank you on behalf of all of us. Keep up the great work that you're doing! I'm gonna go buy a shirt right now! ;-)
Peace to you all..... from yet another heavily tattooed, closeted, gay, married, family man from California! (Jerry Springer would like to have me on stage!)
I love the way you incorporated Janus into your posting, not only is he the Roman God of New Year, but he also is the God of door ways, and I hope he opens the winner's door to you. He's also the God of "seeing" from all angles. He can analyze problems and see all angles of the problem. I loved your New Years insight and I couldn't agree more. It IS a time to see what we have done and what we would like to do and become in the future. Great work, love the blog and love the podcast/show! W00t W00t!
If Fausto doesn't win this competition I'll know that it's totally rigged, because Fausto rocks! I think it's good that you're resolutions are realistic, and actually useful to your life. It's awesome that you put Eric up in this post. I adore him now thanks to your show, along with some other great musicians like Rachel Sage, Christopher Dallman, and Chris Garneau (what a cutie!). Thanks for all your hard work Fausto!
I am proud to say that i have been a listened to FOF for 3 1/pi (as in: 3.14159) years. Mark and Fausto have taken me on an incredible journey. Their imaginations are infinite, as are all their friends, Miss Ronnie, Amanda Steinstein, Sal-E, Rick Petersen, and Greg Shapiro. These guys have formed and created this blog from the ground up! I know this, they have nothing to hide. Even in there roughest days they have spoken honestly and truthfully with dignity. And let me just say, Fausto's interviews are better than anybody in the business. Amazing work guys!
I Love reading Fausto's blog.. This man is a pioneer of blogging and Pod casting.. Just think of what he has done.. from his home studio he has reached out across the world and in the best possible way touches people every day.. He makes me smile, he and Marc keep me company on my drive home from work each day and he has introduced me to some amazing music and people.. Ive listened to other podcasts and blogs of the lavender colour and they are most certainly self indulgent.. Fausto is the "Tell me why?" in all of us and I can;t say enought about him and Marc his beautiful husband.. BIG Thumbs UP! Paul in Ireland
Good job Fausto! As always you are amazing....good luck!
WoW! You are going really good!
After a long day, I can't wait to come home, just so I can sit on a fresh vegan creme pie, put my earbuds in and listen to the latest Feast of Fools. Its digitally delish!
Fausto's blog is the best!!!
Fausto! I have to say that one of the best things about reading your blog is imagining you actually saying the words! I love that you write like you speak. It makes it very easy and entertaining to read.
Like you, right? Easy and entertaining ... :) Just kidding!
I listen to you guys every morning on the train to work here in NYC. My commute is long and normally the podcast times out perfectly door to door. It wakes me up ... especially Amanda's voice ... LOL!
And Jen Porter's music ... I am buying the album asap. Not only is she an amazing musician ... she is so chill and just wonderful on the show. I would love to see you guys have her back on.
I have so much to say, don't know where to start, but I will say that I share many of your resolutions of staying healthy, making my business more financially secure, and I would love to have someone around to kiss lots and lots. Maybe I will find him in '08 ... who knows!
The big 3-0 is for me this year so I resolve to plan an awesome party for all of my friends and fly people to NYC to help me celebrate! I'll continue to comment here and on the FOF website and see how close we get ... maybe you guys will get an invite! I would be honored!
xoxo- Michael
PS: Mark has the sexiest voice. Seriously. Oh! And ... I have a bone to pick with you about Caroline or Change! Don't knock somethin' till you've given it a fair shot, Fausto! More on that later! Lots of love!
We must look back to move forward - we must analyze our mistakes and use the knowledge to make different mistakes in the future - we must use history - our own or otherwise - to make new history.
You're so pretty AND smart - it's all about using the past to make a better future. I LOVE IT!
Can't wait to see you guys in the new year - sadly, I'll be entertaining in St. Maarten for the month of January (sad for those that won't be with me, that is) so I'll see you in February! You'll be all buff and healthy by then, right?!
XOXOXOXO - Happy Christmahannakwanzakah to all (and Festivus for the rest of us)
~Jen~
I'll tell you what I love about you/your show so much: you might be gay, but you don't make it your schtick. Your just a wonderful, smart, funny, insightful & interesting PERSON, who also happens to be gay.
True, our culture doesn't accept "gayness" as openly as it should, so it is important to support it. But I think Fausto gets it that a person's sexuality/gender preferences does not make a whole person. A boring, ugly person is boring, ugly whether or not (s)he is straight/gay/bi/un/a=sexual.
So BRAVO to FAUSTO FOR BEING SO WONDERFUL!!! You put the other gay bloggers to shame!!!
Well Fausto,
Thanks for the Janus reference. I didn't know that.
I am amused by people making resolutions during New Years. If you live long enough you learn that probably 98% of resolutions are dropped within 2-6 weeks. (Hence the reason to avoid the gyms for about 3 weeks after New Years for the hordes of people who swear to get into shape start to drop out of the gyms and leave it open to work out in).
Bing 42 years young I have learned several things while looking back and forward. Mostly it is, don't set too many goals all at once for change. Make one goal your main focus to put your energy into that. Also, set your goals to coincide with your habits of life you have set up (it is the trying to add something that is in conflict to your habits that really screws you up).
For example you say you wish to take more vitamins. Put your vitamins next to your cereal so you will take them with your morning food. In fact, most habits of change you want to make incorporate into your life you should incorporate into your mornings. You can control your mornings and carve out that time, but the rest of the day takes over and makes it easier for you to make excuses. I myself just got a Wii and instead of turning on the news in the morning, I put in Wii Sports and box for 20 minutes. If nothing else I got that done.
Well this is a very long comment, so gonna end it here.
the amount of time and dedication that you and marc put into this podcast is astounding, fausto. the other bloggers really need to take a page from your book and step it up! you're in a whole other league right now.
great post! you really know how to entertain.
Not to be a mean girl but you so have this....Come on........I mean come on!
Fausto, it really is amazing that you have created a podcast that touches so many people (in inappropriate places) all over the world, every day, out of sheer determination, creativity, and love. What more could you strive for in the new year?? Maybe you should resolve to take a well-earned vacation!
Much love, and thank you for the bonus dose of Marsian! Can't get enough!
After a long day, I can't wait to come home, just so I can sit on a fresh vegan creme pie, insert my earbuds & listen to the latest Feast of Fools. Its digitally delish!
150!!!! WAY TO GO FAUSTO!
Wow! I how much work you guys put into this whole podcasting thing. I only heard about you a few months ago and have already worked through a hundred or more shows... Keep up the great work.
I don't remember how I discovered FOF, but I am so happy I did! Mark and Fausto have a lot of heart and it's the way they celebrate who they are in each podcast and blog that has inspired me to try and live my life better each and every day. Love you guys!
Such a cute photo of you kissing Mark!
Love the high-fibre cookie there with all those vitamin pills. :P
Your facial expressions in the header banner is great.
