This was a great experience and the entire QC Team would like to thank everyone for their participation. We will be back next year with an ALL NEW format.

As far as I am concerned you guys have no credibility as a serious competition. It was obvious from the number of comments that Fausto received and the quality of all of his entries that he should be the winner. You and your sponsors must have your own reasons to declare Frank the winner, but it is a shame you try to make it look like it is a fair competition. I suggest you present a more honest approach next year and present the "real" rules of the game.
[Editor: As we have stated before, the winner was declared by the number of votes received, not the number of comments. Additionally, just like popular reality TV shows we chose not to reveal actual vote counts.]
Fausto DESERVED TO WIN!!! WTF!!!
Hooray for Frank!!!
and funny cat videos.
Sorry, but that result is complete bollocks - I think Aussiebum should demand a recount. Posting endless youtube clips and crap photos shouldn't count as blogging.
Frankly, Frank, you're crap.
Go Fausto, Go Fausto, Go Fausto...
[Editor: We are sorry your favorite blogger did not win first prize but we see no reason to berate the others in the competition. The final outcome was based on votes received and not how many comments someone got.]
Have these results been independently verified? I am not convinced.
Tell us the actual numbers.
[Editor: The results were closely monitored by a team of individuals and are accurate. Just as you do not see the actual vote count on all of your popular reality TV shows you will not see the vote count revealed here. Even if we gave out the actual vote count those of you that are complaining that your favorite blogger did not win would still be unsatisfied. All of our winning bloggers are very happy and you should be happy for them.]
"We will be back next year with an ALL NEW format." Can I just say thank goodness? This was loooong, and if I wasn't coming back all of the time to support one particular contestant, I would have been gone a long time ago. Please work hard to keep things fresh and QUICK(er) next year. Thanks!
TOBY: Thanks for your feedback. Coordinating all of the details of this contest was challenging, for sure, so we're glad to hear from everyone on how we can make it better next year.
Congrats Frank. I voted for you everytime. I knew you'd win!!!
Yeah!!!!!FRANK!!!!
Well, whatever you say. I think Fausto won and that is clear from the comments and from the quality of his entries. Blogging should be more than linking to youtube videos.
Your format does need reworking. I got sick and tired of waiting for the results and in the end I am pretty much stupefied that Frank won.
Fausto should be extremely proud of his work. Look at the huge number of loving comments he got. The others didn't even come close. That has meaning; Being declared the winner of this competition apparently doesn't.
[Editor: The voting process was not based on comments. It was based on votes. Frank got the most votes, or had the most people vote him "thumbs up" and others "thumbs down" and therefore won fair and square.]
YAY for FRANK and OMGBLOG, my favorite blog, gay or otherwise!
Yay Frank.Well earned never doubted you or your readers for a moment.Go buy Anderson some catnip with the prize money.
Well done Frank! YAY! I think the competition has been a lot of fun and so much more interesting than the usual (boring?) nomination/voting/polling event! Thanks to all the guys behind the scenes who put this together, the sponsors and QC! I have my personal favorite blogs I visit daily but this comp certainly opened up a new and interesting side of the bloggers taking part. I would like to thank them all for being such good sports and not those "stick in the mud" types who believe blogging is only about text and links. Its great to see QueerClick doing something different (much that I love their site) - this competition has been a breath of fresh air and stands apart from those boring, uninteresting nomination then results type events - Thanks to everyone and especially a big congrats to Frank! (even though I wanted BryanBoy to win! haha! theres always next year I guess?). *muacks* PJ
great job you deserve it your site puts rocks in my socks
Congrats Frank and Craig! I thought Fausto had it wrapped up, but I guess not!
huwaaat?!!
Congratulations, Frank. Fausto, you had my vote every time, and I'm still loving my daily dose of FOF!
The dude that won never once posted anything new.... LAME!!! What a stupid contest.
Knew you could do it frank :D way to dude!
xoxoxox Congrats xoxoxox
Congrats Frank!!
Why the results, how many votes each of the finalists got, are not written anywhere ?
The contest was really poorly mananged.
[Editor: You don't see the results of popular reality TV shows posted (ie: American Idol) and we chose the same format. Rest assured your votes were all counted accurately.]
Congrats FRANK! And congrats QueerClick too for running a fun and entertaining contest - its a shame there are some poor losers who try to discredit you but I guess there is always a small percentage of cynics who troll the net looking to spread their negativity - props to you guys for publishing their comments though! Im glad the format was made up of not just a popularity contest as for sure there are some bloggers out there who will pull out all their tricks to gain multiple votes so Im really pleased that the contest involved some interaction with these bloggers. Good on them for taking part too as Im sure there are some bloggers who would stick their noses up to this for fear of critism! Cant wait for next years Gay Bloggies!
EDITOR: Thanks Ian. Shit hits the fan all the time. At the QC Office, we call it Wednesday. Stay tuned for the next GB! =)
I enjoyed the contest; but I, too, am thinking that Fausto and Marc indeed are the real winners.
This sucks! But I guess you took pity on Frank and gave him the cash prize he desperately needed.
EDITOR: Your guess it wrong. We hope we could be that nice to everyone, including Frank.
This contest was lame. Fausto don't get involved with this scam again next year. Who ever is running this contest is weak. Your show outdoes this mess any day. That is why you are the number on podcast. You are also the number one blogger. BTW Editor, no need to respond. I cannot handle another dumb comparison to American Idol.
EDITOR: As we have stated before, the winner was declared by the number of votes received, not the number of comments. Additionally, just like popular reality TV shows like American Idol we chose not to reveal actual vote counts.
Sorry, couldn't help it! ;)
Im sorry for Frank, but Fausto was robbed. Feast of Fouls should have won.
To the editor: like many people, I don't believe the results on many popular TV shows, (e.g., not i.e.: American Idol), and I don't believe the results of this competition either. I'm not that vulnerable. I give you credit for standing by your work, but we have all seen a poorly managed competition that could have been much more enjoyable to participate in.
Frank, congrats to you and I hope your prize money helps promote your website and upgrade your materials. Congratulations to Fausto and Craig for their dedicated efforts.
EDITOR: Everyone is entitled to have their own opinion of who deserves to win but we stand by the results/numbers which are hard as oak. There's no debating who won. We agree that the event can be better managed, and will ensure the next one is so.
I think the best man won! FRANK!!! As for Fausto, he came across as very pushy, and the weird thing is a lot of his commenters/supporters come across the same way... desparate even! Frank came across as genuinely involved, funny, and has a great blog, Faustos does nothing for me. Good sport on him entering into the contest though cos Im sure there are bloggers out there who dont have the balls to put themselves on the line like these guys did. Congrats to all the entrants, best of all congrats to QueerClick and Aussiebum for giving us an entertaining and fun few weeks! Love you guys! *muacks*
YAY! Congrats to OMG Blog a deserved winner! Good result for Feast of Fools and Puntabulous, although my personal favorites are Proceed At Your Own Risk (writing) and BryanBoy (humor). Great idea for the contest this year QC kudos to you guys for dreaming it up and making it happen, it just shows you that no matter how popular those blogs are, if they can't produce good, fun and entertaining posts then they dont stand a chance to win. And so much more engaging than the usual nominate/vote/win awards ceremony - that seems such old hat after this! I'm really glad you managed to get 12 brilliant gay bloggers willing to take part in this contest, they're all good sports, I can see from some of the above comments there appears to be some sour grapes/poor losers (but admittedly this is just from some supporters of those blogs and not the actual bloggers themselves). I'm sure the bloggers all got a big boost out of this and their profiles are raised somewhat after this - I, for one had never read Little.Yellow.Different before this contest and now I'm hooked! I'm an avid fan! Great work to everyone involved and congrats again to Frank at OMG Blog!
Well done Frank! And THANK GOD Fausto didnt win - comes across as so full of himself, should change the name to Feast of Fausto - bleh!
Wonderful contest and a deserving winner! As to the few commenters who are complaining, well you will probably never please that sort of person - BOO HOO! to them i say!
the best man won - well done Frank! Congrats to all at QC too :)
I wanted Bryan Boy to win but congrats to Frank!
Great comp QC! how come there's like this loser Fausto complaining all the time, he should have been eliminated for his lame attempts long ago, but i guess he got so many votes from his "supporters" right?
FRANK DESERVED TO WIN!!!!!!!!!
Congrats to both Frank and to QC! Also all the other contenders who were brave and sporting enough to take part. WELL DONE ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
wonderful! loved the comp and loved the top three, yes definitely the right order, i believe OMG Blog put their heart and soul into this comp - great work everyone!
Super Winner and Super contest! Thanks to QueerClick, luv u guys XXX !!!
WELL DONE FRANK! YOU DESERVED THE WIN! =)
YAY FOR FRANK!
Great contest guys - loved it! And well done Frank, and the other contestants for hanging on in there and taking part. I'm sure organizing such an event took some special efforts from the Queerclick guys too, so thanks aswell! I just wanted to let you know, that even if there are a few sore losers (or fans anyway) out there that I'm not one of them and I appreciate all the efforts to entertain us here - THANKS!
congrats frank! i voted for you!
As a fan of QueerClick for a few years now I have to hand it to you guys for coming up with a great contest and a great winner too! thanks for keeping me and thousands of others entertained and amused with this - a nice change from the usual porn stuff (but you guys still rock the best at that!). I wanted to let you know I got to hand it to you guys for dreaming this up- BRILLIANT!
Wonderful contest and worthy winner! Well done everyone! Especially Frank, Fausto, Craig and the guys at QC!!!
Great GIG guys! Enjoyed it all - and yeah its why I luv QueerClick cos u guys always come up with something different, interesting and yes (dare i say it) FUN! :)
Props to Frank and QC!
congrats guys, esp frank, winner by far!
OMG FRANK! YAY! AWESOME RESULT! as for the (few) detractors just accept the fact that your choice didnt win, better luck next year and dont be such sore losers, your giving Fausto a bad name, Im sure he's more than happy to come in 2nd and win $1000! Not too shabby I say. Actually I wanted BryanBoy to win but he was voted out too early on - next year babe Im sure you can do it!
Loved the contest and great winner!
The best man won - well done Frank!
congrats to Frank! well done to QC for hosting the comp - great fun!
Aussiebum and the rest of your sponsors should be proud of you guys doing a great job QC! Brilliant concept and so much fun each week to see what the bloggers came up with. Im sure there will others who try to copy this format, so much better than just voting and announcing a winner - at least this way the contest has been very transparent with the readers able to vote up or down and to see the quality of the blogs put up by the contestants - I mean the Oscars or Golden globes dont even let the public in on how its decided do they? I would say this was a much fairer way of running a contest. Its a bit sad that a few of the fans of a certain blog feel it necessary to try and slag off the contest - theres nothing worse than sore losers is there? Frank definitely put out the best and most original material during the whole competition, some im sure just got where they did because they have large audiences, just because they are popular doesnt necessarily mean they performed the best in the tasks given. I think though, its great to see them and all the sponsors join in this and have some fun - enjoyed it immensely QC and look forward to 2008 Gay Bloggies whatever format you chose Im sure it will be fun, original and pushing the envelope that little bit further - thats what i like about you guys, you try something different and dont just stick with old and boring predictable formats. CONGRATS TO ALL!!!!
